Den italienska regissören Cristina Picchis kortfilm CHAMP DES POSSIBLES har tagits ut i tävlan i sektionen Orizzonti Short Films vid Venedigs Filmfestival, som invigs 2 september. Svensk producent Annika Hellström, Cinenic Film i samproduktion med Film Väst. En stor del av postproduktionen har skett i Västra Götaland.
Cristina Picchis film CHAMP DES POSSIBLES är en drygt fjorton minuter lång dokumentär som enligt engelsk synopsis handlar om ”a contemporary city symphony where floating memories blend with the sounds of the streets and the natural elements, where tales of loss and love are mirrored by the demolition and construction of new buildings, where life and death stand next to each other, like the darkest hour of the night and the first lights of the day.”
Cristina Picchi är en italiensk filmmakare, författare och visuell artist bosatt i London. Hon har regisserat och klippt de korta dokumentärerna Zima (2013), Eyes On The Ground (2012), Under Your Skin och The Disassociated (2011). Hennes filmer har visats på festivaler över hela världen och vunnit priser i Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand och Tessaloniki. 2013 nominerades hennes film Zima till Bästa kortfilm vid European Film Awards. För närvarande arbetar hon på sin första långfilm.
