Film i Västs samproduktioner vann under Göteborg Film Festival tre priser: Sven Nykvist Cinematography Award till Ita Zbroniec-Zajt i John Skoogs film Säsong; Eurimages Audentia Award till Mia Engberg för sin film Lucky One och Startsladdens publikpris till Julia Thelin för Sorry Not Sorry.
Den europeiska filmfonden Eurimage har instiftat ett pris till en filmskapande kvinna, Audentia. Priset har delats ut på en rad festivaler med början i Istanbul 2016. I år delades det ut under Göteborg Film Festival. Audentia, som betyder mod och djärvhet på latin, avspeglar två avgörande egenskaper hos en kvinna som vill göra en karriär som filmregissör. Årets pris gick till Mia Engberg, som regisserat Lucky One.I juryn ingick regissörerna Marc Cousins och Iram Haq samt Kristina Börjesson, som tidigare arbetat på Svenska Filminstitutet.
Juryns motivering:
“We were overall impressed by the richness and artistry of the films in the competition. Again and again we saw films which explored hope, freedom and the complexity of love. Our winner is a labyrinth of a film. It tells its story from multiple directions, innovating with image and sound and challenging the audience. Like a Russian doll, it is multi-layered. Its director makes us see cinema and life in new ways.”
Sven Nykvist Cinematography Award gick till Ita Zbroniec-Zajt i John Skoogs film Säsong.
Juryns motivering:
“The winner is a poetic fusion of documentary and fiction that marshals its suggestive powers through moments of keen and beautifully framed observation. It’s a film that’s as interested in landscape and livestock as it is in farm labourers and is subtle in revealing the connections between them and the community that uses them.”
